Speed reading

Fast and slow reading? Differences.

1. Field of view.

Evident thing. If we have wider field of view we see more text at the same time. That is: Wider field of view gives us faster reading.

2. Understanding of reading text.

If we can concentrate our attention on text, we don't have to go back to last page because we forgot what we have read. Many of 'slow-reading’ people stop the sight during the reading and go back for few words or lines. When we are learning speed reading we have to eliminate this phenomenon.

3. Anticipation.

With this ability we can associate words or even whole sentences seeing only one half of the word/sentence. Our eyesight doesn’t took in whole text, but we don't miss the worth informations. You can train anticipation reading half-covered text.

4. Eyesight 'jumps'.

That are short pauses during the reading. If we read fast we donDuring the normal reading we talk in mind or loud the text which we read. In Speed reading the informations are transferred from eyesight to the brain (eyesight->brain), not like in slow: sight->speech->brain Liek i said few times earlier in this course. Fact that vocalization disturb in speed reading is a subject of a dispute. T. Buzan In his book claims that people can say In mind even 2000 words per minute.t have to stop our sight so often. It gives us opportunity to save lot of time. The wider view gives the larger 'jumps'. The diagram below will illustrate it better.
