Vocalization

What's that?

It's speaking the text while reading. From the primary school we were learnt to read loud. Now we have bad habitat - speaking the text in mind. There are some good solutions to break the habit of doing that.

Taping the rhythm

While reading any text try to tap the rhythm with your finger, pencil or pen (everything which you will find ; D) The rhythm like 2 fast taps, 3 slower etc. After getting some advantage try to make more difficult rhythms. Firstly, you won't understand the reading text, but don't give up. It will bring profits. Try to make that exercise daily from 10 to 20 minutes.

Counting the big numbers

While reading try count big numbers like: 5234, 5235, 5236 etc.

If you didn't cross the barrier of 1000 words per minute, then you don't need this element. But for very fast reading it is indispensable. If your main goal is just to improve a bit your reading speed, you can spare the fight with vocalization. It would be only waste of your time.
